·      Pycnogenol or Grape Pips  contain flavinoids called proanthrocyanidins. Pycnogenol, extracted from pine bark is considered to be more effective. Grape pips are less expensive. They have many properties that are beneficial to the musculo-skelatal system. Studies show proanthrocyanidins to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. They improve the strength and elasticity of connective tissue from which ligaments, tendons, and cartilage is made. They also improve circulation, strengthen blood vessels, help skin and mucous membrane health, protects the brain, and strengthen the immune system. Generally anti-oxidants protect against many degenerative diseases and slow the aging process. Dosage: 50-150mg proanthrocyanidins daily. Side effects are rare, and it is safe for pregnancy. Effects may be noticed within days to weeks.
